With this in mind, that they have nothing really personal to gain i.e. monetary rewards etc, I was really touched by all the goodness that went on and how each and everyone worked hard and tirelessly to make other peoples', who are less fortunate, come true. It could be some new furniture, or a college tuition funding etc ... gosh! All this goodness is going to be great for America ... who's fast becoming a little apathetic and insensitive to a lot that goes on. However, that is a general statement, because there are loads of you who DO care ... and that's great.
I love Oprah even more for spreading this goodness and goodwill and all with her money. How amazing is that?
On last weekend's (it runs on the Hallmark Channel 792 on Astro @ 8:00pm, so set your Astro Max people!) episode, the remaining 8 people were divided in 2 groups and each was given 1 celebrity to help with the dreams of 2 different people whose dreams were not their own, but for the children that they care for. There has got to be no nobler profession than that of a teacher.
In Field of Dreams: one teacher was wanting a new children't playground for her school, because what they had was a miserable gravel patch with 2 broken basketball poles for a basketball court. It was depressing to know that 150 kids didn't have much more than a pole to play with.
The other teacher's project was titled a Forgotten Christmas as these 150 kids as well were from the hardcore poor in Houston and didn't have bubkus much less a present on Christmas day and the 4 on this team were tasked with hosting and planning a Christmas that the kids won't soon forget.
Oh ... it was brilliant. And the one person whose attitude just so needed checking at the door was Ms. Rachael Hollingsworth. Oh, this lady was all about her EGO. I could not stand this woman in the 2 episodes that I watched. I hope it gets better. It's about giving back to people Rachael! Not about showcasing yourself! You're gorgeous and talented already! We don't need you shoving it in our face. ;) We ain't blind gurl! :)
